BURKET — Burket Fire Department was assisted by five other departments in a machinery shed fire.

Firefighters were called out around 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, to 8088 S. Beaver Dam Road, Claypool.

Burket Fire Chief Kevin McSherry said firefighters were on scene until around 5:30 a.m.

The shed was a “total loss,” he said. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

McSherry said he was grateful to Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Mentone Fire Department, Henry Township Fire Department, Claypool Fire Department and Silver Lake Fire Department for helping, noting there were probably “50 firefighters” who lost sleep due to being out at the fire.

According to Kosciusko County Beacon GIS, the property is owned by Mark and Sandra Eberly.
